Foreword
A poem is the creative result of an active poet, staying with subjective, emotional subjects and having its own value in the understanding of human talent. It is always a single, intricate design worked by a bard, and people always see the domain of pure art is indefinite.
Therefore，when a poet as a climber went high up over the world then held his thoughts as high as were the mounts whereon his mind-eye could lie and made his soul of equal simplicity with Nature herself rich changing also; and as the perfected-featured vision of the lifelong-fain of his spirit, seeing the clouds flying by and away even seemingly by some soft nudging of his eyeing that might give him a hint of personal life's undulation or a refraction of the force unseen in life whatever liked or hated but that is always a pity beyond his control.
While a poet was on the way as an abroad-man, his life was frittered away along with the details on the lonely weary road, seeing the village in snow and smoke, withered old wintry trees and bamboo and rocks; banks in mist; the river flows beyond heaven and earth, and the mountains appear to fade in and out or a dark one of it towering up over the belt of mist; “Three friends of Winter”; or plum blossoms, orchids and narcissus within aroma ; that was easy to enjoy but keen senses do not make a poet, therefore , not looked at all nature in the delighted , admiring way between a further bright and a final darkness but there must be the spiritual quality，the sound of truth even it was difficult to relate an experience of the heart ; for a poet a certain touch of divinity in man Time is but the moment he goes a-thinking in.
That would be seasoning with Nature, in rich sounds and colors, hearing the rustling leaves fallen or the gurgling of a running stream; intoxicated or sleepless; through rains in the air a whistling of pinions of geese at midnight or a mature golden and autumnal tint in that time his hometown; far or near, communed with soul or ghost in boundless way, that all within a poet's mood；all packed in a short or long poem.
These poems are so greater within many colored and different vein from each special personality as people usually call them a “poet”, because through those poems they have had widened out the boundaries of our being in many centuries even in the 21th and keep giving something genuine，earthlike or passion coming from on high，or out of the world, and too much in it, refusing the life under the goad of fear in exchange of the resonance for generations yet unborn.
Three thousand years the Chinese literature, especially ancient Chinese classic poems are not only as exquisite works of art also as the deepest soul-flowing from our ancient poets' hearts, an expression simple, complete, perfect; actual and indisputable, freshness as though it had never been said before but everyone knew. They are the living souls of Chinese history. They have had carried their own serene and celestial atmosphere into our lands into our souls to protect them against the corrosions of time and have had kept claiming its glory to the world.
Also, it is Time that has proved a wonderful poem is a thoughtful lesson to make the reader find his own personal way to echo Chinese literature with its history. Sometimes a poet had a strong sense of a marvelous beauty of something, someplace, and marked it into his verse and later shared it with friends of him. Now, though dead, to live; as Chinese ancient history's voice, the rhythm of their words is like music, forever fresh to the world to come will know of it and forever echo in the air.
The Chinese and English version of learner’s book of Tang Poem is a book that systematically and comprehensively introduces the Chinese classic poems, with Literary details, tonal pattern, rhyme scheme, rules and forms of classical poetic composition，versification，lot of happy distinction of metrical pattern of poetry，of the Chinese classic poems in deeply understanding of it, also attached with 185 Tang &Song poems for a poetic-style with their English versions as the sit-samples which are chosen by author Mr. Lu Biao-Zhang (a Australian Chinese scholar and poet：陸镖章) and, Australian Chinese writer Mr. Wen Zheng Zhu（朱文正）has translated them.
Hopefully, this book will be the best helper for readers to learn the Chinese Classic Poems and also to know the ancient Chinese poets.
