《别董大》（其一）

千里黄云白日曛，北风吹雁雪纷纷。
莫愁前路无知己，天下谁人不识君?

【注释】

董大，即唐玄宗时著名的琴师董庭兰，崔珏曾写诗咏叹董以琴艺受知于宰相房琯：“七条弦上五音寒，此艺知音自古难。惟有河南房次律，始终怜得董庭兰”。然而，知己无贫贱，天涯能朋友；该篇即为高适与董大久别重逢，又各奔他方的赠别之作,写来豪气满胸襟,别离意境开阔，依恋、率真，堪与王勃“海内存知己，天涯若比邻”的情境相媲美。

Upon-the-day-pressing-down the yellow clouds in thousand miles

Wild geese are winging through snowy-danced north winds.

Unsent for beyond those afar the hearted understanding comes

Obviously yet everywhere your music-soliloquy gathers bosom friends.

《interpretation section》注释条款

1、yellow clouds ：阴郁云阵；clouds thickest.

2、upon-the-day-pressing-down the yellow clouds in thousand miles: 千里黄云曛白日。Or: the yellow clouds a-pressing-down upon the day in thousand miles.

3、afar : adv. 从远处； n. 遥远。从远处。

4、wild geese are winging through snowy-danced north winds.

: 北风萧雁雪纷纷。

5、beyond those afar: those 指示代词，指第一二句里的“千里黄云””北风萧雁”，以避免重复这两个复数名词。（若单数名词，用that）

6、come unsent for: 不邀自来。

7、hearted understanding ：知音；hearted: adj. 有。。。心的。

8、unsent for beyond those afar the hearted understanding comes: 可还原为：the hearted understanding comes unsent for beyond those afar. 译文一定程度上转换了原诗句的含意，将宽慰转成正面认定，豪气不减，实质一致：莫愁前路无知己转意为：前路里知音不请自来。

9、bosom friend ：知己， 莫逆之交。

10、 everywhere ：处处。

11、music-soliloquy：音乐独白。
